Last Jazz at Jamison for 2018

Just a reminder that our final ‘Jazz at Jamison’ session for 2018 will be this Sunday 11 November. We have had a great year of jazz and 2019 looks set to be just as good. Rounding out 2018 is banjoist Chris Gildersleeve and his Delta Jazz Band. Hailing from Sydney, this successful traditional jazz band has been together for some twenty years and it is one of only a handful of bands to hold down a long term residency, currently playing twice-monthly at Sydney’s Lane Cove Bowling Club.

This six piece band of seasoned professionals focusses on swinging New Orleans revival jazz, in other words, the music that evolved from the melting pot of music genres that was New Orleans jazz in the 1920s and 1930s. This will be a great afternoon of swinging early traditional jazz.

Joining Chris will be Wally Temple, reeds; David Cant, cornet/trombone; Gary Kohrmann, double bass; Beverley Baychek, vocals; and special guest Colin Beale, reeds.
