Latest Newsletter

Here is our Latest Newsletter for October – November

The latest newsletter is attached. Two more regular gigs remaining at Jamison for the year – we hope to see good crowds – both bands are terrific! There is a note included in the newsletter about membership renewals. Our new Membership Secretary, Evelyn Foster, will be at ‘Jazz at Jamison’ on 13 October to take any renewals and I will be there to take bookings with payment for our Christmas Party which promises to be a great afternoon.

Yours in jazz

Jazz at Jamison – Captain Bob’s Station House Seven – Sunday October 13

Yes, they are back!  This Illawarra Dixieland jazz band is a favourite in our annual program of events at ‘Jazz at Jamison’, they fill the house every time they play!

Band leader, trumpeter Bob Netting, is thrilled to have a couple of original band members back in the band – Denis Langley on trombone and Dave English on banjo. His best combo ever! It’s foot-stomping traditional jazz from the 1920’s in New Orleans!

Bob is inviting our local trad musos to join in for a jam in the last set.

This will be a great afternoon of high-energy classic jazz rarely played these days. Best part, it’s free to members and guests of the Canberra Southern Cross Club.
