Jazz @ Jamison 13th October

‘Jazz at Jamison’ welcomes back boogie woogie queen and vocalist Carolyn Packer and her band the Stompin’ Rhythm Aces

This fun band revives the speakeasy party of Prohibition days, where wild dancing and hot jazz were the norm. The band draws its influences from a wide variety of styles – New Orleans jazz, early blues, boogie woogie, swing and gypsy jazz – guaranteed to get the party swinging!

Carolyn hails from the Central Coast and she welcomes every opportunity to get together with her Sydney-based band. The Stompin’ Rhythm Aces is comprised of some of Sydney’s most experienced jazz musicians. Joining Carolyn in Canberra will be Greg Englert on trumpet & vocals, David Ridyard on sax & clarinet, Jim Fletcher on drums, Cameron Jones on his gypsy jazz guitar and replacing regular bassist Ed Rapo on this occasion will be local Anthony Irving.

Earlier this year, Carolyn released her new 3rd jazz album “Time To Feel Love”. This new album followers her critically acclaimed previous albums “Sweet Substitute” and “There’ll Be Some Changes Made.” Carolyn is looking forward to playing some of the tunes from her new album.

Carolyn Packer’s Stompin’ Rhythm Aces create a party atmosphere wherever they play. Don’t miss what will be a fun afternoon of swinging, toe-tapping jazz at ‘Jazz at Jamison’.
